Kevin Patrick Smith, born August 2 1970, is an American screenwriter, actor, film producer, and director. Smith is also known as a popular comic book writer, author, comedian and internet radio personality best recognised by viewers as his character 'Silent Bob'. His films include 'Clerks', 'Chasing Amy', 'Dogma', 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back', 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno', 'Cop Out', and the horror film 'Red State'. He is also the owner of Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic book and novelty store in Red Bank, New Jersey. He hosts a weekly podcast with Scott Mosier known as 'SModcast'. Smith is well-known for participating in long, humorous Q&A sessions that are often filmed for DVD release.
