Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., born October 20th 1971, is better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg. He is an American rapper, record producer, actor and entertainer. Snoop is best known as a rapper in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. Snoop's debut album 'Doggystyle', was released in 1993 under 'Death Row Records' debuting at No.1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle quickly became certified quadruple platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including 'What's My Name' and 'Gin & Juice'. In 1994, Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film 'Murder Was The Case', starring himself.
 
In addition to music, Snoop Dogg has starred in motion pictures and hosted several television shows; 'Doggy Fizzle Televizzle', 'Snoop Dogg's Father Hood' and 'Dogg After Dark'. Snoop has lent his voice to the animated show 'King of the Hill', starred in an episode in NBC's series 'Las Vegas' and also appeared on the 'The L Word'. He has also appeared as himself in 'Weeds' and made an appearance on the TV shows 'Entourage' and 'Monk'. Snoop also played a lead character in the movie, 'The Wash' with Dr. Dre and portrayed a drug dealer in a wheelchair in the film 'Training Day', featuring Denzel Washington. He also starred in the horror film 'Bones' and has notably played the drug dealer-turned-informant character of Huggy Bear, in the 2004 film, 'Starsky & Hutch'.
